Arrival Procedures

Domestic Arrival

All domestic arriving passengers whether comes to the lounge from Passenger Boarding Bridge or coming by bus, will enter the domestic arrival lounge, and do the following:
  • Take passenger baggage trolley from designated assembly area from the arrival lounge (if required),
  • Collect your baggage(s) from the respective baggage belt (if any),
  • Show your baggage tag to the concerned airline operator,
  • Exit to the arrival concourse hall,
  • Proceed to car park
Note:
  1. Passenger Baggage Trolley are FREE of Cost for the convenience of Passenger.
  2. Make sure that you have collected your all tagged baggage from the conveyer belt.
  3. Porter service (on charge) is available in domestic arrival lounge on issuance of porter slip from the respective PFS Counter.

International Arrival

All arriving international passengers are to assemble in FIA / immigration Hall first at international Arrival with ensure have the following documents:

TRAVELLING DOCUMENTS REQUIRED AT INTERNATIONAL ARRIVAL:

  • Filled Disembarkation Form (if applicable)
    (Overseas Pakistani Card holder are not required to fill)
  • Valid Passport,
  • Valid Visa (if applicable).
  • Letter issued at Pakistan Consulates abroad (For Foreigners).
  • Vaccination Certificate (For Passengers coming directly from the countries infected with the diseases declared by WHO or International Health Regulations)
Note:
  1. Disembarkation form (completed in all respect) for immigration (if applicable), International Overseas/Pakistani Card holder Passenger will not submit disembarkation form on board or at Jinnah Int’l Airport, Karachi. These forms are handed over to the passengers on board by the Airline cabin crew and also available at the airport. Passengers are advised to complete the forms while on board to expedite their clearance process. (If the procedure is applicable).
  2. International Overseas / Pakistani Passengers will not submit embarkation / disembarkation form on board or at international airports at Pakistan. As such they should not fill this form.
  3. The holders of diplomatic or official passports of the countries would remain exempted from the requirements of entry visas as provided under the visa abolition agreements concluded with their governments.
  4. Special Desk for Overseas Pakistan Passengers is also available to facilitate and provide assistance on 24x7 basis. (For more information please visit www.opf.org.pk)

Immigration Clearance

  • For the ease of passengers and quick going through the various checks, Immigration counters / desks are divided into different categories.
    1. All Passports
    2. Overseas Pakistani Passenger/ Card Holder
    3. Foreigners / Taxpayers
    4. Old Citizens / Special Person
    5. Women alone and Women with Children
    6. Diplomats / Foreigners / Taxpayers
  • Passengers are advised to queue up at the immigration desk with their applicable above mentioned traveling documents. The Immigration officer will verify your Photo ID and may ask some questions in accordance with immigration procedures.
  • Under the International Health Regulations all travelers arriving in Pakistan and Staying for more than four weeks required to be vaccinated against POLIO and Obtain a Vaccination Certificate to be presented at the time of Departure.
Procedures
  1. Stand in your corresponding lane.
  2. Stay behind the queuing line at the immigration desk marked in red color.
  3. Please wait for you turn at the marked red line. Take off your hat and sunglasses. Refrain from using your mobile phone while waiting.
  4. Submit your passport and disembarkation card (only for foreigners). Once your passport is returned, you may pass through immigration.
Note:

All Passengers coming from Liberia, Sierra Leone, Mali and Guana to Report to the Health Office desk (at int’l arrival) desk and Seek Clearance from Airport Health Officer, before Proceedings to Immigration Desk.

Baggage Claim

After immigration clearance, collect your baggage from the respective Baggage Conveyer belt in the area at International / Domestic Arrival Lounge.
Procedure
  • For the ease of passengers and quick going through the various checks, Immigration counters / desks are divided into different categories.
    1. Take passenger baggage trolley from designated assembly area from the arrival lounge,
    2. Check and confirm at the Flight Information LCD screen displaying the baggage of your flight.
    3. Wait at the designated baggage collection area.
    4. Identify and collect your baggage from the respective baggage conveyer belt and confirm that it’s yours.
    5. Show your baggage tag to the concerned airline operator, for verification
Note:
  1. Passenger Baggage Trolley are FREE of Cost for the convenience of Passenger.
  2. Make sure that you have collected your all tagged baggage from the conveyer belt.
  3. Passenger Porter (Facilitation) Service (on payment) is available in international arrival lounge on issuance of porter slip from the respective PFS Counter after Immigration Hall (if required).
Baggage Claim

Custom Clearance

After collection of your luggage/baggage from baggage area, custom clearance of baggage of international arriving passengers is mandatory in the international arrival lounge / area at JIAP Karachi.

There are two ways / channels to custom clearance, as follows:

  • RED CHANNEL: (for passenger having dutiable or restricted goods)
  • GREEN CHANNEL: (for passenger having no dutiable goods)

International Arriving Passengers with nothing to declare (carrying goods within the customs limits only and not carrying prohibited items) go through the Green Channel
RED CHANNEL

International Arriving Passengers with goods to declare (carrying items above the permitted customs limits and/or carrying prohibited items) go through the Red Channel
Custom Clearance Custom Clearance
These passengers are subject only to spot checks to save time. However, if a passenger going through the green channel is found to be carrying goods above the customs limits or prohibited items, he or she may be prosecuted for making a false declaration to customs, by virtue of having gone through the green channel.

X-ray scanning machine has been placed by the Custom Authorities. Alternatively, GREEN CHANNEL is also available for passenger not having any taxable items.
